Where is the library?

Go to the Highway 5, Highway 14 junction (by McDonald’s).  Follow Business 5 to the Ava square.  Go down one side of the Ava square, and one block past the square.  Turn right at West Webster Avenue  We are located a block and a half down the hill. 

How can I get a library card?

Any Douglas County Resident may obtain a library card with a driver’s licence, address, phone number and a reference phone number.  Patrons under age 16 must have a parent’s signed permission to obtain a card.  Non Douglas County residents will be charged $15.00 per family per year to receive a library card.

How many books can I check out?

Four books/magazines/cds may be checked out per library card for three weeks.

Do you have videos?

We have DVDs and some VHS tapes which maybe checked out for one week, with a limit of 4 videos checked out per family.

Do you offer internet/wi-fi service?

We offer one free hour of internet service per day, and two hours of wi-fi service per day.

Can I send a fax?

We charge $1.00 for every four pages to send a fax.  We charge $.20 per page to receive a fax.

Can I borrow a book from another library if it is not available here?

We borrow books from other libraries in our Missouri consortium free of charge for our patrons. If a requested book is only available from a library outside our consortium, we charge $1.00 per book to borrow.

Can I use a library card from another library to check out books?
